Time for a MAC haul! I feel I haven’t bought any makeup from MAC in a while, and today I happened to walk past the MAC Pro store in Apgujeong. Despite having the sniffles and the weather not being so great, I decided to make my way out to Gangnam. Here’s what I bought!
First up, we have MAC’s answer to the cushion craze – the Lightful C Quick Finish Combpact in the shade Light Plus. Isn’t it pretty? Its the same packaging as their powder foundation, but it has a cushion inside! I think Korea was one of the first countries to have this out – it’s definitely not available in Australia, and as I can’t seem to find any information in English for the product, I’m guessing that it hasn’t been released in many other locations just yet. So far, from what I’ve worn today, I like it, but will give you my opinion once I get back to Australia and compile my cushion collection – there’s going to be quite a few! It comes with a refill, and from the website, it only has 5 shades – but I’m assuming this is because this is the Korean website, and they would have a wider selection when releasing this to other markets – if they do.
Finally, we have the Versicolour Stain and I have the shade Resilient Rouge. When I first heard of these in Korean, I could not work what on earth “Versi” was. In Korean, 버시 or beo-shi. It wasn’t until I saw the actual promo pictures that it all clicked. I was also surprised that it was spelt ‘colour’ not ‘color’. Moving on – Resilient Rouge is a kind of pinkish red – they describe it as a cherry red, and its definitely a very me colour. You can intensify the stain by layering, or can even mix colours for a gradient effect. It has that familiar, MAC vanilla scent, and if all goes well, I may pick up a few more later. It seems to be a real hit at the moment – a lot of the shades have sold out at counters, and people are awaiting the next shipment in (apparently this coming Monday for anyone in Seoul).
I’m looking forward to giving these products a go, and hopefully I get some good results. I love how Korea gets these amazing beauty products so early to their actual international releases. Honestly, in Australia we have to wait months – the Studio Waterweight Foundation only recently came out, almost half a year after the rest of the world. I’m going to have to get my cousin to send me things in exchange for the few brands that they don’t seem to have in Korea.
Have you tried either of the products? Are there any “Asian Exclusives” that I should check out before heading back to Australia? Let me know!
