I’ve been spending quite some time getting close to nature in Jeju, and one of the places I have visited is the Cheonjiyeon Falls. Cheonjiyeon Falls is one of several waterfalls located on Jeju Island. We don’t have too many waterfalls in my neck of the woods in Australia, so I decided to visit this one. The meaning behind the name Cheonjiyeon? Heaven connected with earth – quite poetic, don’t you think? It’s a beautiful place to visit, and a place that the whole family can enjoy.
Beautiful, right? I can’t get over how green things are here. Just the most amazing shades of green. I’ve always loved the nature in Korea, and this trip to Jeju just confirms it even more. The Cheonjiyeon Falls was not too far away from my hotel, so I walked there – but a lot of tour buses stop by here too. The walk to the actual waterfall isn’t too far, and is a pleasant walk – unlike the stair climbing I did at another location! Its suitable for all ages, and has reasonable access for those wheelchair bound or prams.
I recommend a visit to the Cheonjiyeon Falls – after a long day of sightseeing, its a really lovely place to wind up your day. Cheonjiyeon Falls, not to be confused with CheonJEyeon Falls, is located at Namseongjung-ro, Cheonji-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (제주 서귀포시 천지동 남성중로 (천지동)). Just as a side note, I wrote down the addresses of all the places I was going to visit, as well as the phone numbers where possible. If they weren’t sure of the location (more for the hotels – there seemed to be new ones popping up all over the place), then they could look then up on the GPS. It will make the trip easier, and ensure you’re not paying excess in taxi fare because the driver doesn’t know where he’s going!
